Faster Communication with Mobile Devices

There are relationship self-help books which tell us that relationships are all about communication, but really being a person who interacts with other people in any form is about communication, regardless of what kind of interaction or relationship it might be. You can't be in the world without communicating with someone in some way.

And this is even truer today as mobiles become a more and more normal and necessary part of our lives. Mobiles mean that communication can be instantaneous – you can just be thinking about someone and contact them at the press of a button.

Imagine going to a museum and not having access to a visit guide, it would diminish your experience. Mobile devices are around us all the time now – helping us to communicate in better and faster ways.

While this kind of technology certainly has its advantages, it also has its draw backs. One of the most obvious and important is privacy.

We let it slip without much thought but privacy and quiet are also important. Instead of wanting to be in contact all the time, we should be treasuring those moments that we do have to ourselves, because one of the impacts of mobile phones is that we are always available and so can always be contacted. Privacy is something that we should be fighting for, not throwing away.
